How to Get to Kanto Lampo Waterfall

Kanto Lampo Waterfall located in the Kelod Kangin hamlet, Beng village in Gianyar, Bali. There are many options to get to the Kanto Lampo Waterfall by driving a scooter by yourself, hiring a car with a driver, taxi, or doing an organized Bali tour. As mentioned earlier this waterfall found in the province of Gianyar, Kanto Lampo waterfall is around a half hour drive from Ubud, just a short distance from Tibumana waterfall. To get to Kanto Lampo waterfall from Kuta or Seminyak, expect the drive to take at least an hour. For those of you that choose to rent a scooter/bike, make sure you are aware of the risks. If you don’t have a valid license and get into an accident, your travel insurance will be invalidated.

What to Expect at Kanto Lampo Waterfall

From the car park, it's a steady five minute walk by stairs to reach Kanto Lampo Waterfall. The walk runs through the rice terraces and down into the rocks. It’s one of the easiest waterfalls in Bali to get to and it’s highly suitable for families and small children. It doesn’t involve any strenuous trekking or dangerous obstacles, therefore any footwear should be fine. We recommend visiting as early as possible in order to get some space at the waterfall as it can get a little busy and there is not so much space to explore. Our experience at Kanto Lampo Waterfall was around 02.00pm and it was pretty busy, as you'll be able to see in the images shown. We do believe we hit it at an unexpected rush as tourists were saying it had all of a sudden got super busy. The waterfall itself is a peaceful escape into the Bali jungle and a great way to relax out of peak times.

Unlike other waterfalls, you don't have to go through miles and miles of hiking and trekking. Within 15 minutes, you will reach the spot of the waterfall. The slightly under the radar location of Kanto Lampo adds to its uniqueness. The source of water unlike other waterfalls in the Bali region is a dam and this waterfall is absolutely new. But this formation of a new waterfall turned out to be a boon for the local villagers.​

As many tourists keep coming to visit this waterfall, the income of the villagers increases somewhat. If you are a photography enthusiast, you can climb up the rocks on the top of the waterfall and get some nice,instagram worthy pictures. You can also buy some snacks and drinks from the parking spot to take to the waterfall location and enjoy a little picnic of your own. The youth from the nearby villages first started posting pictures of the waterfall and that is where it all started.
